Hi everyone,
I just received my new Samsung TV – model TQ65QN85BDBTXXC – and have been working to integrate it with my Control4 smart home system.
The TV is correctly discovered in Composer Pro via SDDP, indicating that it’s prepared for integration. I’ve enabled the necessary external control settings in the TV’s menu, and both the TV and my Control4 controller are on the same network.
However, when attempting to add the TV in Composer, I receive the following message:
“A driver cannot be found for the device you are attempting to add. This indicates that the product manufacturer has implemented Control4’s network discovery protocol (SDDP), but has not yet released a driver through Control4’s online driver database.”
This is quite unexpected for a 2024 model, especially considering my older 2020 Samsung TV integrates perfectly with Control4. It seems clear that the device is intended to support integration, but for some reason, no driver is available.
I've also checked several other recent European Samsung models, and none appear to have a corresponding driver in the database.
Before I consider returning the TV, I’d appreciate any clarification regarding the following:
Has Samsung discontinued Control4 support for European TV models?
Is there a planned driver release for this model or similar?
Are there any recommended workarounds for enabling integration?
Any insights from Samsung staff or fellow integrators would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Fluke
