It appears from what you write that the Samsung Agent either didn't understand the request for a refund only and initiated an exchange instead.
When DPD turns up ensure they give you some refusal of delivery type of paperwork and if it was me I'd take a photo of the van including the registration number.
Once the phone gets back to the Samsung Warehouse they'll see the notes put on by the 2nd agent you've spoken to and arrange a refund back to the same payment method @ItsBaldDave_
