I booked S22 ultra with trade in offer on 9th feb 2022 . Sent in my flip3 and received an email a couple of days later confirming Samsung had received it and no action required. That was a weeks ago. Now my S22 ultra is telling me it will be locked in 72 hours .
It is just stressful. Have decided not to ring or contact customer service as I had enough of samsung but will file a county court case here in UK with all the proof. Samsung is not a corner shop but a global brand. If you all need help let me know. I will guide you how to make a genuine claim. Every penny counts in these ard times.

Some people do seem to have recieved this communication which I think is automated going from posts on the forum.

However that said I've seen one post where a person's phone had been locked.

As your not wanting to contact Samsung Support then it's a case of waiting and seeing if Samsung lock your phone in relation to the Terms and Conditions of Trade In promotion.

However you wish to proceed I wish you all the best @ghostsssss

Hi,
I have traded my phone and they emailed me the same. I never received a notification about the 72 hour lock. I am still waiting to find out if my trade was successful.

I received the notification, however they did not lock either my phone or tablet. If you received confirmation already that your trade in was received, I do not believe you have anything to fear.

I pre ordered my phone with a trade in and have just been informed I need to pay£75 excess as my port is damaged but I used a wireless charger so obs they just think as phone is nearly 2 years old good excuse to get money back

Did you check to see if your phone charged up via the phone's charging port @sgegmctb  ?

I have stopped trading in long ago, now I only buy directly. Last time traded in my phone which had no scratch nor crack and packed it in an original box that came with the phone when it was new in to the provided return packaging from Samsung was asked to pay excess £25. They even sent me an email with screenshot of cracked screen. Obviously can guarantee it wasn't damaged on the way considering how the phone was securely packed.
You are not the first person!

Fair enough @sgegmctb

You could ask them to look again at the situation advising the charging port was operational when you sent the phone in.

However the engineers report can be final.

Have you decided what your going to do ?

Yes I've paid tbh I've just got over covid so couldn't be bothered to argue. Traded in a laptop not long ago they said there was a prob with screen and only offered me a fraction of the trade in so I had it back as screen was fine. Wasn't going to trade in phone as thought I could get more selling then they offered more money so I thought I would give benefit of doubt but I won't do trade in any more. I really look after my stuff I'm 56 always put on covers and screen protectors etc, so bit annoying really
