I ordered the 24ultra but I've decided I no longer want it and want to keep my 22ultra for another year. If I refuse delivery from dpd UK will the phone be sent back safely and will I be refunded?

Best off contacting Samsung Customer Support and explaining you no longer want it.
That said if you bought from Samsung online store
You can try it out for a week or so and then call to say you want to return it
Never know, you may like it
If you have traded in your S22 Ultra. Then you definitely need to call them

Yes the phone would be returned to Samsung and you would be refunded.

Ask the DpD driver to put refused delivery and get some official paperwork from him if possible.

If not take a snap of his / hers van registration.

That or as suggested by @Glenntech have a play with it and see how you feel.

If it's not for you then simply pack it back up, factory reset it , with all the freebies and take a time and dated photo of the contents and or video the contents and then contact Samsung to arrange a return.

Include a cover note explaining you want a refund and include a list of contents of the package.

Wrap it up well.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care.  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I wasn't sure if I opened it, if it would be easy to return?

Technically under distance selling regulations you can return it either way but not opening it will make it easier to deal with

Call them or chat online and ask if you should just send back or refuse delivery

You should be able to return it by law. However, I would not open it if I do not intend to keep it. They could say that it was not as new. It may not happen, but it is good to be on the safe side. Any promotional item must be return and you will be charged if they are not.

Do you think I should maybe wait for the watch to arrive next week and send them all back together? The phone arrives today. I'm debating refusing delivery or waiting until I have the watch too to return as one package?

When is the watch meant to arrive? It might be coming with the phone and the band today as well.

However, if the watch and the band are not coming together with the phone and you return the phone, then the watch should get canceled by default.

You have 15 days for returning the phone without any hassle. If the watch and band arrive before those 15 days, you could wait to send everything together. Please do take pictures with time stamp and location information to document everything.

"Paper" trail is always useful. You should ask the delivery person for some documentation.

I refused my S24 Ultra / 512GB at the door.  The delivery app shows that the item was not delivered and I later received a message from Samsung that I will be refunded my money in five business days.

It hasn't been five days but I've done this in the past without any problems.  (I ordered a second phone with a much better price, I ordered too quickly.  Lesson learned.)

Thanks.. im undecided if I should refuse delivery or take it and then return it myself. As if I refuse their may not be any tracking information to show it had been returned also.
