Hi, I have traded in my s24 for s25 , it was too good deal not to, I have 2 questions that I would like to ask
1. Do I need to to downgrade back to one 6 to transfer my data to s25 ? I'm not to sure
2. Do I need to downgrade to one 6 when I send my device in for trade in ? I don't think they will like the warning box when you phone loads to homesceeen the first time and it gives the warning about beta .
Hi, you shouldn't have to. Just need to make sure you got the latest version of the Samsung switch app. The app will do the rest but I would suggest using a USB cable for speady transfer. Once all data is transferred just factory reset the S24 and send it back in the package they send you. Sometimes they will send another packing envelope after a couple of days. So keep an eye out for that. I always record me showing the condition of the phone and then packing it for any possible issues.
Na, no need to downgrade for either. A new version of smartswitch has actually pushed today. As for the handset returned then as above, once you've removed your data then do a full reset and that's it. As long as it meets the condition requirements and works then all is good. The official version of 7 will probably push before ypu return your 24 and in any case they will flash the firmware to the latest version when the handset is reconned for sale
To be on the safe side I'm going to downgrade to one ui 6 which is original software the phone came with. Last thing I want is for my trade in to be rejected
Thanks for the replies, I appreciate the help , so I been in touch with the trade in team and they have stated that original software no betas allowed , So my next question is once I transfer my data to s25? I opt out of one ui 7 , reset the phone , using smart switch I downgrade? Is it that simple or have I missed anything? Thanks
That would not be the original software, oneUI 6 has received monthly updates. We're talking Samsung's official software here, if the beta software had been side loaded then yeah I'd suggest to maybe go back to the latest released version, otherwise you don't need to worry, whatever you'll send they'll reflash it anyway before processing it.
On your trade in order, Samsung asked if your phone switches on and is in working condition. At no point did Samsung ask about the software also do note that the trade in program supports none Samsung devices. I know someone who traded in a device that only charged via the wireless charger and there were no issue with the trade in.
