Not sure if its a common issue I've only noticed it a couple times myself but from the default messaging app i keep getting notifications for messages I've already read. Happened about 3 or 4 times now

Please, clear cache of the Messages app and then reboot your phone.

If that won't help, report the problem via the Samsung Members app 😊.
