how to record a phone call?

How can i record a phone call on my s20 plus ? Do i need to download an external app for that? Or is it just a setting ?

Hi Rutty, 

Due to European law, Google has limited the ability to record phone calls in the latest Android versions. Some apps try to work around it, but it will stay a cat and mouse game.

It sounds pretty unfair indeed. I can't remember of a Dutch law that states that recording a call is prohibited. 

Did anyone succeed in recording calls? Perhaps with addidional hardware or something else?

True. Google refers to the GDPR (AVG in Dutch), although as far as I know, it's actually allowed under GDPR to record calls you're participating in. Sounds like they're playing on safe by using a very strict interpretation of the law.
I know there are earphones with a built-in recording function. They record in the earphones itself, so it can't be blocked by the software. I haven't tried them, but you might want to look into it if you're looking for a hardware solution.

09-2023 Are there any working .apk's to record calls available?

I know Cube ACR works just fine, but it goes against Google Play policy to record phone calls by apps in the Play Store. If you install Cube ACR through Google Play, you have to download the Cube ACR Helper app from the Samsung Galaxy Store in order for it to actually work.
