Device emergency calling

Hi!

I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy s20 fe.
My phone frequently tries to pocket dial 911/112 through the 'emergency call' feature.

I have accidental touch protection turned on, but this does not work.

Does anyone know a fix? Is there a way to remove the button?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Hey, have you tried turning on the pocket mode on your phone? This feature reduces the sensitivity of the touchscreen when the phone is in your pocket or bag, which can prevent accidental touches or inputs. It's especially helpful if you're carrying your phone around a lot or doing activities that may cause your phone to move around frequently. To turn on pocket mode, go to your phone's settings, look for 'display' or 'touchscreen', and enable pocket mode if available. Give it a try and see if it works for you!

Thank you for reaching out to us! Did you also configured the side button on your phone? When you go to Settings > Safety and emergency situations > Side Button, here you can switch off this option. 

You can also try if you can place the phone in a different pocket 😇

Same problem and I can't seem to find a solution. This one feture is making me consider getting a different phone like a huawei or one plus or something. Never had that problem with those. Samsung really needs to fix this

Do you also have the option switched on to wake up your screen by tapping on it? Do you also experience this when you switch off this option?

Yes, I have it on because that's what I liked about this phone. But I'm pretty sure it should be a function that shouldn't impede on basic usage of the device. This emergency call feature is inconvenient and should be removed or optional. Its definitely a design flaw that takes away from this phones value and convenience

Via the Samsung Members-app you can also send in an error report to my colleagues of the R&D department. They can investigate this and when this can be resolved by an update this will be rolled out as soon as possible 😇
