Android 12 | One UI 4.0 update has made my S10+ unusable

I recently updated my S10+ to android 12, one UI 4.O since then the phone has become just terrible.

Below are the issues that I am facing after the update:

1. Phone freezes while performing the basic actions. Most notable is while opening the phone app to make calls. It just freezes and doesn't show any recent calls, even if it shows I am unable to call as it won't respond.

2. The search functionality has just become worse. Everytime I search from search bar in the home, it takes seconds to load results.

3. Battery drains very quickly. I have to charge my phone atleast 2 to 3 times a day with normal usage.

4. Auto brightness just isn't accurate anymore.

5. I don't not get any notifications for WhatsApp calls or even messages sometimes. Only when I open the app, all the missed calls and messages are shown.

Why make an update with so many issues that is causing even everyday tasks miserable. It was perfectly fine with android 11.

I just hope with January update these issues are addressed or else maybe it's time to switch.

Kinda the same on my galaxy s10 my snapchat is so laggy after the update and battery drains faster

Hello,

Have you done a factory reset yet? If not I suggest you do that. This solves most problems after a big Android upgrade.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am planning to use factory reset as the last option and have not tried it yet

The things you describe sound to me like a problem occured during the update. Something must have gone wrong. I dont see any other option.
