Hi all,
we hebben het statement ietwat aangepast:
Based on Google’s security policy and local law, Samsung had blocked call recording through 3rd party ACR applications. So this operation is intended behavior. However some 3rd party application developers had found a detour to record each voice during calls and applied it to their apps. Those applications have been working on previous Samsung devices whereas it was
blocked on S9/S9+ device due to improved call recording solutions. In case your country permits call recording by local law, voice recording during calls will be possible via preloaded Phone > Call application in upcoming software update. For this, Samsung is reviewing each local law again and allowed countries will be categorized in the near future.

"In case your country permits call recording by local law, voice recording during calls will be possible via preloaded Phone > Call application in upcoming software update. "
Why only on preloaded Phone > Call application!? Is Samsung honestly suggesting that they will allow users only to use Samsung apps? Good luck for the future of your smartphone sales Samsung!
"For this, Samsung is reviewing each local law again and allowed countries will be categorized in the near future."
Also not very satisfactory. Now Samsung realizes that this blockage is unfair, certainly for users in most countries, it's proper response would have been:
1. Apologise to its users for causing grief and possible damage
2. Immediately (next software upate) remove all restrictions, rather then first reviewing the local law in all countries
3. Possibly, apply the restrictions again in future updates for those countries where it is a strict legal requirement
But don't delay making this functionality available again any longer by first reviewing the local law in all countries. This is just prolonging the grief and damage for a large group of users that should not have experienced this in the first place.

I understand that they will simply enable the built in app.

So Samsung died for me, I stupidly bought the Galaxy S9 plus and can not give it back. You could have previously pointed out that no more phone recordings are possible and now I have left my money to Samsung - so never Samsung .....

Vandaag een update van Samsung ontvangen. Helaas komt Samsung zijn belofte niet na. Mijn gekocht ACR call recorder werkt nog steeds niet.
Zelfs de onderstaande belofte van Samsung:
"In case your country permits call recording by local law, voice recording during calls will be possible via preloaded Phone > Call application in upcoming software update."
wordt nu door Samsung compleet genegeerd!!! Dat je als zo'n groot wereldmerk lak hebt aan je klanten, door ze met valse beloftes aan het lijntje te houden, is wel super arrogant.

Bruce,
I do not know what your relationship to Samsung is, but it seemed that you referred to an 'official' statement from Samsung in your last post "In case your country permits call recording by local law, voice recording during calls will be possible via preloaded Phone > Call application in upcoming software update. For this, Samsung is reviewing each local law again and allowed countries will be categorized in the near future."
So I would really like to hear from you / Samsung as since the last update (april) I still don't have the option to record voice calls. I paid €850 for a phone that doesn't allow me to do what I need and am getting pretty annoyed with this.
