Compass Issues

Hi there,

 Please can anyone help with an issue I keep having with my compass constantly needs calibrating. I have the S8 I've tried to use another compass but cant find where to uninstall the old one, so hence still having the same issue with calibration. Location accuracy is always on low. @nos62: Let's start with the unwanted compass app. If you know the name of the app, head to Settings > Apps > Select the relevant app > Uninstall. It may be the case that you need to improve your Location Accuracy to avoid having to recalibrate the compass. With this in mind, head to Settings > Biometrics and Security > Location > On > Improve Accuracy, and enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Scanning to see if this helps.

Hi AndrewL, both off those settings are turned on but even within maps the accuracy is still saying low. The compass I wish to uninstall is the one that came with my phone but cannot find that one anywhere. Thank you for your help Nos

@nos62: Are you accessing the compass via your Edge Panel (Settings > Display > Edge Screen > Edge Panels)?

Yes that's correct, that is the compass that I'm trying to uninstall as to replace it with one that works. I've downloaded a 3rd party compass, gps status thinking that would resolve the problem

You may consider the fact that not all compass accuracy issues are related to compass calibration - though the compass should be calibrated, certainly.
