The wallpaper on my lockscreen has been replaced by a black screen and the only thing visible is the clock. When i got to change it by pressing wallpapers and style nothing happens and also the edge panel is not appearing and when i got to setthings to enable it doesnt allow me to press it.

I also contacted samsung support where the guy just told me to restart my phone and then proceeded to disconnect from the conversation

My phone is galaxy s21 ultra the us variant and its fully updated

Update: After the battery died i went to charge it and now everything is back to normal.

Hi @VasilisKG and warm welcome 👋

You can try few things:

Wipe cache partition:
Turn off yor phone, plug into PC, tv etc via USB Then press and hold power and volume up button until samsung logo appears Then quickly release power button and keep holding volume up button until reboot menu appears then navigate with volume down button till wipe cache partition press power button to confirm restart your phone.

Try start your phone in safe mode to see if there's any 3rd party apps causing it:

Hello @VasilisKG

Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 👋

Well the Samsung chat person could have been a little more helpful 🙄

Try a forced reboot by holding down the volume down key and power button simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it. When your phone resets, you will feel it vibrate.

If all else fails back up and factory reset.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Hello,

I tried both of your suggestions but neither of them did work. If i cant find a solution I will probably bring the phone to a samsung store tomorrow

Hello,

i tried your recommendation but it didnt work. I will perform a factory reset only as a last resort since even with backups setting up all the authenticators, banking apps ect is such an annoying and time-consuming thing

@VasilisKG: Are you sure that you have not accidentally enabled the Always On Display? To check, please head to Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Always On Display > Toggle this off if applicable.

For clarity, when you head to Settings > Display > Edge Panels, is the option to toggle this feature on greyed out?

Just to double-check. Are you not mistaken always on display with your actual lock screen? As always on display can show black background with clock only, but you can turn on "show lock screen wallpaper" in always on display settings.1734872173249.jpg

Hi.

Instead of a full factory reset try just resetting your settings under reset first and then restart your phone.
