Voice control when phone locked

I have a Galaxy s21 ultra that locks when in its foldable case; when it is locked, it won't let me use voice control from my bluetooth headset until the phone is unlocked! Is there a way around this

What voice control are you using bixby or google

Won't this, significantly decrease battery life though as both the headset and phone will be listening for the Hey Google command?
