Samsung Pass not prompting to save login details

We have tried everything on an S21 Ultra, but Samsung Pass never offers to save login information.

We have checked, and Google and Chrome password save options are all disabled.
Samsung Pass is set as the default password manager.

So how do we get Samsung Pass to offer to save login information when it is entered into a website or app for the first time?

Are you using samsung internet? I don't believe you get prompts in other browsers or at least mine never did. It's kinda samsung specific. In samsung internet, personal browsing data, autofill, set them all to samsung pass.

Setting samsung internet as your default browser can also help. I usually get popups within other apps to save things but I believe that's because they're internally using samsung internet

It doesn't work for apps, so no browser involved.
Ans where does Samsung state it only works with their bowser?
(We'll swap to a different password manager if that is the case.)
But I'd like to know why apps do not work, and where Samsung defines the manager only works with their browser...

They don't state it I've just found it only works with their browser. For me apps work as normal, because I have the browser setup to be the default.

Realistically it should work with everything, kinda found it doesn't unless you use the browser

Hi! Welcome to the samsung members community!

to check—go to Settings > General > Passwords, passkeys, and autofill (this should show at the bottom under "Looking for something else?").

Is google selected under additional services? Then,
Click the gear icon next to Samsung Pass- "Preferred service" set to Samsung Pass?

Ok - we've now proven that is the indeed case.
Time to swap to a better password manager!
