S21 FE 5G - Overheating and slow-down after software update

Hey!

My Galaxy S21 FE 5G phone is definitely slowed down after the recent software update, here are the update info:

- One UI version: 6.0
- Version: G990BXXS6FXA7 / G990BOXM6FXA7 / G990BXXS6FXA7
- Size: 316,73 MB
- Security level update: 2024. Feb 1.

The other issues I'm experiencing:

- Overheating while using the phone, even without games or high CPU usage apps
- Overall slow performance, glitches, lags at everyday usage
- Slow charging, 50% slower than before

Tried to reboot my phone, it didn't help. The next step is do a factory reset I think, or is there any other ways to solve this problem?

Factory reset first after backing up data, then if the issues persistent, consider booking for repair

Clearly there is a wider issue given these points and a fully data back up and factory reset is the worst of all options for customers who have had their phones for a long time... not a good cx

Please fill out a report to samsung support. And also allowing samsung to bug-track your phone. 

I did that and I hope this will help Samsung to solve the problem as fast as possible.

Hi all, 

Any update on this? All of our fleet phones are starting to overheat and die really quickly. Factory resetting works but there are many devices. 
Google Play Services consumes the majority of the resources. Hope someone has found a solution for this. 
S21Fe's & S23Fe's are having this problem.

My 21 Ultra is suffering from overheating and battery drain since the last update G998BXXS9FXBG

Samsung better come up with an update soon or give us the option to revert back to the previous firmware version, once this fixed I will never update my phone

my problem slowly degraded. After 6 weeks it is back to normal:-)

yepp, same here, there was another software update since then it works okay
