Samsung should feel ashamed about the low quality of their products and the state of their customer care. Their actions and practices caused me to feel disdain towards the company and their products.
My Samsung battery expanded only after 3 years of use. I contacted customer support about this and they were very eager to have my phone shipped to them for examination. I agreed to them wiping all the data off my phone for examination because I was under the impression that Samsung would also take responsibility for using such low quality components and fix my phone free of charge. I was under this impression as there wasn’t a word said that the repair cost would have be covered by me.
It took the professionals a week to conclude that ‘the battery had swollen, causing lifting at the back of the phone’ they then informed me my product was out of warranty and sent a repair quote of 149 pounds. I feel misled and lied to, I would have never sent my phone to them if they informed me that my phone was out of warranty and I’d have to cover the costs. Now I’m left with no phone battery and none of my data. Overall it was a terrible and pointless experience. I hope that Samsung recognises that the way they treat their customers is pushing them away from buying their products in the future.

Update: it was confirmed that nothing could be done to help. I guess expanding batteies are not regarded as an serious issue but a feature of samsung products. It's a real shame because I especially saved up money for a fagship phone believing that it would last me for years to come, not everyone has money to spend on a phone every measly three years. I would not be as frustrated if Samsung let me know that I'd have to cover the repair costs and actually gave me a choice in how I wanted to proceed before sending off my phone.

I have the exact problem . After using It for 3 years, the battery had swollen & lifted the back. Don't know why we are paying flagship price for sub standard products .. what a waste of money

I have had the same experience. A battery has a minimum number of 5 years or so printed on the battery itself during which time it shouldn't disintegrate, deteriorate or become swollen causing unexpected shutdowns or decreased battery life.
