I got my battery replaced on my Samsung galaxy s21 ultra at a mobile shop. The Samsung members diagnostics was showing as 'weak' battery before the replacement. It also showed 'weak' after the replacement.

I have recalibrated it using the advice from here: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/How+to+Perform+a+Battery+Cycle+Reset/152044 Now it shows battery as 'good' and I have reset the cycle count

Are you normally meant to recalibrate battery like this after a replacement for it to show the correct stats? Or should it happen automatically after a battery replacement?

Samsung doesn't really give much info in internal things like this but my guess is it should also calibrate after it's used a little. The phone can detect a new battery (as long as a good and not fake battery is used). Since it can do that, it should be smart enough to reset the health counters on it's own. Since you did it manually, you probs just did it's job for it

That application exists in the Galaxy Store and is a newer version than the one in your link

Was it an authorized repair from a Samsung authorized facility?

Personally, I wouldn't recommend that.

Honestly, I would just reach out to them again for information. As a fact, I don't know if they have used an official battery or not. In my opinion its not worth the risk saving a few £
