I have an S21 Ultra. Worked beautifully for the last year. Updated this morning, and screen will not accept taps, so basically it is bricked. There are HUNDREDS of people with the same problem. I have re-installed firmware with Odin and still screen is non functional.

This is a way of Samsung forcing you to get a new phone. Apple did the same with their battery life.

Its the way big business work and they should all be disgusted with themselves.

Never again will I buy ANY samsung product. EVER.

We all need to think about a class action.

UPDATE: And Samsung have promoted me to student!!!WTF! I'd rather they sent me a new bloody phone!!!

NEW UPDATE: And now, thanks to all the replies/views from you lovely people, I have been promoted to Apprentice!! Samsung WTF...just sort out a solution for God sake!!!

I have the exact same problem. The only way to use the phone is with a mouse connected via a usb hub. My battery drains super quick too.

Wondering if this problem only happens to unlocked phones. If I could return it to my phone service provider, I sure would. ANd if service providers got lots of returns, maybe Samsung would actually respond.

Hello,  so around the end of Feb 24.  After an update my wifi quit working.  It acts like it is going to turn on but goes to a grayed out version of being on.  Then spins for a while and goes back to the beginning wifi screen.  I have done all the suggested steps even factory reset the entire phone.  I have insurance thru att but I don't have the 250 for the deductible.   Att says we'll I can trade it in but once again that requires cash for sales tax etc.  I've had this phone for a year this month paying payment 12 of 36.

So I conceded I would just have to live with it.  Then a couple weeks ago it started working again for about two days.  Then stopped again only now the bluetooth also does not work as well.  It makes me absolutely insane.

Mine has bricked as well. Frozen on the Welcome screen.
Rebooting just brings me back to the same screen every time.

Anyone able to get their phone working? Has anyone managed to get their screen to work again, besides rooting? I don't want to go through the trouble of a hard reset if that doesn't work.

I tried a factory reset on mine and it did nothing except wipe my data. I then tried flashing the OS but that didn't solve the issue either. I also tried flashing a slightly earlier OS version (that had the same bit binary value; see this if you don't know what I mean) but that didn't work either.

The best investigation I saw of this problem was reported in a different post and pointed to this site.  The long and short of it is that  the OS tries to update the firmware for your touchscreen, fails to do so, and continues with the update, leaving you with an OS that has no firmware for the touchscreen. A solution is also demonstrated at the above link, but it is not trivial. I haven't tried it yet, but that will be my next step, unless Samsung gets their act together and issues a fix.

This is unreal! I was about to try a factory reset, but glad I'm not wasting my time. I cannot believe Samsung hasn't released a patch yet! How can they break so many phones and not respond by now?
