Corrupted Image after edit

Just editing a team pic (in gallary edit tools) and my phone powered down (75% battery)

After it booted back up, the image preview is now blank and it appears I have lost this team pic... any help to recover appreciated ???

Is the image in the photos app?

Previews like this in the gallery & photos app 🤷‍♂️.
When I click on it, I just get the spinning wheel and it never opens, or if I click the gallery (white preview) that's what opens, as the preview.

I have a feeling that when editing the photo is moved to RAM which gets cleared when the phone reboots. If there's nothing in the recycle bin I suspect the photo is irretrievable.
