Anyone know how to change storage location for photos at the moment things are going into DCIM

Even when I create a new album that goes in DCIM so then google photos doesn't recognise there's a new album to sync

So any photos you actually take with the front or rear camera on your device will always go to DCIM. This is a default camera folder. Google photos by default classes the DCIM folder as camera and this backs up by default when backups for photos app is turned on.

But how about when creating a new album in gallery and moving photos from camera to new album how come that new album goes in DCIM as then google photos doesn't pick it up as a new album to sync unless I move the album out of DCIM to internal storage

But I don't want my photos going to google ever. I bought a phone with a large storage, that's where the photos should always be going and all my sync and share has always been off. Why are my photos going to google photos, I can't get them back. I remember trying to delete all google stuff why can't I delete their apps, I don't need them. Don't make me change to apple

@Just want to know: From what I understand, the Google Photos backup is automatically enabled when you register your Google account to your Galaxy device, and is part of the default backup options.

To disable this feature, please swipe up from you Home screen > Select the Google folder > Photos > Tap your profile in the top right > Photos settings > Backup > Backup (Back up photos and videos from this device to your Google account) > Toggle the switch to the right of the option so it greys out.
