Broken screen, please help me get my memories back!

Hi, I unfortunately broke my s10 screen just over a week ago.

In that time I have been desperately trying to retrieve data from it, but the screen is completely black. Initially there was a sliver at the top of the screen that I could see and some of the screen still appeared to be responding, but not enough for me to unlock my phone.

I've been on find my phone, but I can't do anything since the phone was restarted - so I cannot unlock it since it isn't connected to a network, but i also can't back up the phone since it states the phone needs to be unlocked after restarting first.

I've been given an a20e to use, since I can't afford to repair the s10 or buy a new phone right now.

I've tried several different mirroring apps but none of them will work since I need to be able to alter settings on my phone first, which I can't.

I've also bought an hdmi adapter in the hopes I could view the screen on my laptop and that I could still unlock it using the screen or by plugging in a usb mouse, but this seems to require me to use the cast setting on my phone as well, which I also cannot do.

Please can anyone recommend anything at all?

I may have an older backup I can access if I become completely desperate but I don't have a recent one that I can use

Hi there, @Abwettar. I appreciate that's very important to get your important data backed up and restored at a later date. Have you had a look at the guide below?:

https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/i-smashed-my-screen-and-cannot-use-the-touchscreen...

The steps provided should facilitate you in being able to access your phone's data and to back up your photos.

Hi, thank you.

I've had a look and I've managed to get my phone connected to my TV, but I can't manage to get the usb mouse to work at the same time, and I've found the screen is now completely unresponsive as well.

On the TV a small lock icon shows up with the time and the only thing that changes is that that disappears if I press the power button, and returns when I press the power button again.

I currently have the hdmi plugged into the adapter, and the adapter into the phone, and then the usb mouse also into the adapater.

I've tried plugging the mouse directly into the phone but there is no indication at all that the mouse is doing anything on the screen.

You could try a USB keyboard?

@Abwettar  Hopefully you can the screen to work via the Tv or can try a PC .  pity you only have an older back up.      For general reference it is best to back up to both the cloud and local storage if  possible.   A variety of back up options detailed in this article  https://www.androidauthority.com/best-photo-backup-apps-android-
