A-Z for contacts

How do I get letters A-Z to show at the side of my contacts instead of dots please.  I am having to scroll down or take pot luck on tiny dots intead of clicking on the alphabet which no longer shows.

@sfhgfcvr4: I'm sorry to hear that you're having difficulty navigating this feature of the Contacts app. If you press and hold on a dot then the corresponding letter will appear (depending on your current position in your contacts list) and you can then swipe up or down to access the letter you want. This is an embedded feature of the Contacts app in Android 12, and cannot be adjusted.

It was changed to only show while scrolling on the right dots.
Or you can just search for your contact.

Uncool... I would also love to see that functionality back.

Like... I know in what order is the letters in alphabet, and still can roughly estimate where K or R is, but still it's a step back to remove all letters at once not leaving any customization option!

Who thought this was an improvement over the actual letters? You have to guess or just keep sliding up and down to find the letter. Change it back, what a shambles !!!

The embedded feature of dots instead of alphabet letters is a chronic mistake.
Who on earth in any workplace environment could or would operate a system where all the reference points are the same, i.e. a dot?
This is stupidity beyond belief and has no added value, so why do it?
To suggest that people press down and hold on a dot to reveal a letter is so heavily steeped in irony. Why do people have to reveal the letter? Why not just display it anyway? Also, the chances of correctly guessing the dot for, say, the letter 'k' are not good...this sounds so silly! I know that you can slide a finger to reveal other letters, but in 2025, why is this archaic method in place? Is this cutting edge technology? No.
