UI 7 IS HORRIBLE. What are you switching to?

UI 7 Is so horrible and the fact you can't use previous version is ridiculous.  I have been a Samsung girl since way back in the Samsung Fascinate days. I have never considered switching but this update has gone so wrong. What would possess them to roll out something like this without any kind of feedback first? 

I'm due for an upgrade on my phone next month and for the first time ever not looking at the next S series samsung. Who is switching phones and what are you switching to?  Looking for ideas thinking of going with a google pixel.

So do you complain when Microsoft update your laptop and remove support for previous versions?

It is not possible to have two different operating systems for the same device. Updates world take forever and app developers would have immense problems.

What a stupid stupid change making the unlock swipe up from down with no option to revert Now every time I unlock my phone it's about five touches instead of the one I was used to either they have zero expertise in the UI design team or they deliberately disrupted all their users and I for one and pissed by it

I don't use a laptop or computer in any capacity really so it hasn't come up but I'm guessing I would complain yes. Samsung phones have had a very unique and sleek look to the UI since the beginning this is not on brand at all. Multiple swipes for things that used to take one seems counterintuitive.  Also,  after using for a few days I've noticed an issue switching between open apps. The window will be blank and you have to close it and reopen for it to work again properly.  Like a frozen screen.  They also moved the location on the toolbar for many things and there is no way to customize.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to reply and anyone who gave tips and tricks. I will be moving to Google Pixel simply because it seems like I will have the same basic look and function I have now but a much better camera. the way the Samsung phones looked and operated were the reason that I stuck with them. Now that is no longer the case I have no reason not to switch. Camera function is moving higher and higher on my priority list these days so at least I can make an informed decision.

There is a perosn here asking what is there not to like well

1. Phone staying black when its locked

2. Hue all over the phone continually

3. Phone becoming unresponsive at any given moment 

These are all bugs with one ui 7 forget all the stupid stuff thats been done in the ui thats nothing in comparison

I HATE this latest update. When I pull down from top of screen all icons have disappeared, where's my sound, Bluetooth etc gone? How can I access those now, it was quick and easy before. I like my A54 but now it feels like a strangers phone, this is dreadful. I can't afford a new phone because Samsung decided to change everything willy nilly. SO ANGRY.
Any tips on where/how to find those drop down menus please?

Try scrolling down from top right. You can access the quick functions there. I reallly haate this update

Download Good Lock and on that app you can amend this and other stuff. On the other hand it took me well over an hour to find and secure my contacts list on the phone app. However it looks so wrong as I can't re-order how my favourites look with the most important at the top 😊
