Smart view broken since Sept upgrade

Since my Galaxy tab A 10.5 was upgraded to Pie in Sept, Smart View no longer has a stable connection to my Samsung tv.  Looking around it seems quite a widespread problem and not restricted to any one model or device.

What plans do Samsung have to fix this and how long will we have to wait?

thanks for reaching out to us. Is this happening with a particular video or app? Have you tried to mirror the Tab screen on the TV using a different method to see if this is still happening? Take a look at this link to find more ways to mirror this.

This is typical, many people experiencing the same issue after an upgrade and samsung blaming the users. I have lost faith in Samsung and will be transitioning to another system.

That update definitely made smartview stupid and now it doesn't work with any device that's not Samsung... it is sad to see the android dream going away piece by piece...

I too have a few Samsung devices that got the same issues and found out online that it is related with the android update... what fails me to understand is how the community seem to be passive to this bs...

The workaround for chromecast is to use its home app to do the mirror. Youtube still does the "mirror" straight within the app. As to the rest, I guess we'll have to wait and see if anything will come up or we have to give up on it... Since my old S3lte it's been loosing features everytime I upgraded my phones... it's almost as if they did it on purpose...
