In regards to Smart Switch for PC, I am not at all satisfied with the speed and efficiency of backups and restores. I am only doing 120 GB. Some people might have 512 or 1tb versions with alot of storage usage. 32bit in 2025 seems very outdated and I would appreciate if Samsung could put extra effort into Smart switch with a better 64 bit version with better speed and efficiency.
Difference between 32 and 64 bit:
A 32-bit PC processes data in smaller pieces, which can limit performance and software compatibility.
A 64-bit PC processes larger chunks of data, often leading to better performance

But if your assumptions are correct then I guess it comes down to how often this app is used and how much effort should be made in updating it.
Often phone backups are done directly from the phone to cloud and therefore this is not the most common method.
Secondly for setting up a new phone with smartswitch, most users will only need to do this once every two or more years. Again this is done by using the phone app and from device to device without the need for the PC app.
For the time and investment required to update this software tool would it be worth it. I think not.
Finally I have been using samsung products for more than 15 years and I have never used the PC version of the app. What exactly is your use case for this ? How often do you use it ?

Can confirm it's 32 bit, though that won't really affect speed. Not sure which phone you have but most will have usb 2.0 ports, meaning slow. The S series with usb 3.0 ports come with 2.0 cables, so 2.0 speed. Using a usb 3.0 phone and a usb 3.0 cable gives you full speed. Your target/pc drive needs to be fast too. (I say 3.0 as the versions after 2.0 have been renamed so many times they no longer have any meaning, usb 5gig is the speed of the S series phones)
Outcome, my 40gb backups take around 5 minutes. The software itself is not the issue, the physical connection speed and pc hardware is the limiting factor.
Sidenote, steam is 32 bit but people don't say it's slow. That thing can download at multi gigabit speeds with the right internet connection

Just FYI, I am using a usb C to Usb C cable which supports 100watts and 480 mbps speed. My pc has a USB C port and is also equipped with an nvme ssd. As per Task manager, the application is marked as 32 bit. I get the point where we do not use smart switch that often however, why do you make an application this unoptimised? It takes more than 5-6 hours just to transfer 120GB. The ETA mentioned on the application is extremely inaccurate.
