I updated my device, right? And guess what? The very next day, bam! There's this annoying black line smack in the middle of the screen. And that's not even the worst part. The right side of the screen completely stopped working! Can you believe it?

So, I reached out to Samsung customer service, hoping they would fix it for me. But you won't believe what they said. They straight up rejected my request and had the audacity to tell me it would cost a whopping 700 euros to fix! Eventhough it is under warranty. I have been loyal to Samsung for ages, and this is how they treat me?

I've had enough. I'm done with Samsung. I'm seriously considering switching to another brand. They should really own up to their mistakes and take responsibility for this mess. It's just not right!

I'm assuming it's a phone you are talking about. Z Fold Prehaps
If so, it usually needs to be sent in to be assessed

If there's any physical damage, then it probably won't be covered by the warranty
Was the phone assessed by the repair agency

Hi there, @Members_HpsxT5S, and thanks for taking the time to share your experience with the Community. From reading your post, I'm unclear about which specific device you are using, but it does sound like your device might have sustained some physical damage (e.g. a software update would not impact your device's hardware). However, it's very important that you get it working and looking as expected again.

If you disagree with the assessment that the engineer has made (I understand that you have had your device inspected), I'd highly recommend continuing to liaise with the Service Centre in question or the Support Team that covers your region.

You must have dropped it.

If u had a pink/ green line then its covered under warranty. However a black line suggests the entire row of pixels are dead.
