need a solution for samsung chats not appearing in google.

I have tried to move my messages from the general messaging app and one of my conversations with someone appears as if im talking to myself.

Upon investigation (by returning to samsung messages abd look through the conversations) it appears the other person in my text exchange is using chat, whilst i am using text for my messages. I think this is why a whole two years of conversation history is missing. My messages are there, the recipients responses are not and  i NEED to keep these messages for legal purposes.

I was making the change to google in preparation for a new samsung. As i heard that google is the default message app for most now these days.

I really don't want to have to do this by taking screen shots. That will take forever.

It's also not just google. I tried other third party messaging apps to no avail. These messages do not transfer over at all into any app.

It is a bit confusing for some people as the Samsung Messages app is still available to download in the UK. Google seems to want to be dominant in all places.

@dizzypretzel @GHOSTFACE76: When you transferred your messages from Samsung Messages to Google Messages, did you do so on the same device? For instance, did you go to Settings > Apps > Choose default apps > SMS app > Google messages, then open Google Messages?

While in Google Messages, have you tried tapping on your profile at the top of the screen > Messages settings > RCS chats > On, to see if this helps?

Yes, i have done all that.

I've done it on a moto that someone loaned me (to see if it was just the phone), and on my s20,

It's like the chat messages leave no footprint and just disappear.  Great for anyone who doesn't want a trail. But i need that trail.

So i have accepted the fate that there is no solution. I will just end up keeping my old samsung just for those messages. I have taken a screen recording of the messages. As it seems the only way to keep them is to keep the phone i have.
