Hi I am trying to back up my photos from my S22 ultra to my google photos, i have tried this below but to no avail.

Google photos will not see the folders all on my phone, please any help would be fantastic.
Thank you G

Look in the folder called "DCIM".
Tag/check all the folders **EXCEPT THE CAMERA** folder and MOVE the folders to the PICTURES folder.

After you do that, go back into your Google Photos app and loo at your Device Folders to Sync area for the newly moved folders.

@GMCX100: Please try opening the Google Photos app on your S22 Ultra (swipe up from your Home screen > Tap on the Google folder > Photos). From here, tap your profile in the top right > Photos settings > Back up and sync > Back up and sync, then toggle the switch to the right. This will now automatically upload photos and videos to your Google account when there is an active Wi-Fi connection (or Mobile Data, if you enable this option in the 'Mobile data usage' settings found at the bottom of the Back up and sync page). Let me know if this helps.

Hi Andrew, I have done that but my photos are only visible as "Photos on device" they cannot be seen in any of my google photos albums either on the phone or online.

I am going round in circles using the Google help sites!  Might have to look at Dropbox , Amazon Photo storage if I cant get around this.

Hi there. i recently stumbled upon this issue as well. i checked out all these forums to try figure out how to do it with Google Photos since i've paid for the storage subscription. But after testing different ways, i realise that the most effective way for me is the method below. However, it means that I'll need to get OneDrive to store my "Albums" and leave Google Photos as the back-up tools for photos. This way, I have a very clean Albums filing in OneDrive, as i don't use it for photos backup (which means it's not cramped with other non significant photos) but purposefully as Photo Albums.

I know it might not be the direct answer you're looking for or you might have found another means, since i'm a year late to this forum.

Here's what I did:

1. Under the Album, for each specific album, i clicked the "album to sync" icon on the top right and select the albums i want to sync to OneDrive

2. it will appears in the Files > Pictures > Samsung gallery > DCIM

3. for each of these album, i click on the far right 3 dotted section and click "add to album"

4. it will then appear in the "Photos" section of OneDrive, by respective albums
