Receiving calls but not text from one person

All of a sudden, I am not able to receive text from my son on both my Smart and Globe SIMs. He gets all my messages but when he sends me a msg, it shows Sent on his end but I dont receive them.

I have no problem calling him or receiving his calls. There is no problem with texting between me and other contacts. He has no problem with his other contacts either.

He is not blocked on my phone. I am not blocked in his.

I only use Samsung Messages and Contacts apps. I've deleted my son from Contacts. I've also deleted all past conversations with him from Messages. I've cleared the cache on both apps. I've forced stop both apps, re-launched the apps and when that didnt work, I  restarted my phone. When that still didnt work, I turned my phone off, waited 5 mins and turned it back on. 

I called Samsung and they told me to reset my network settings. I did.

None of these worked. Any fresh ideas?

I would like to provide this thread an interesting update.

My son stayed over in pangasinan yesterday on his way here. I thought... what heck, let's test from there, with the only change being his location, i.e., from La Union to Pangasinan.

Lo and behold! His text msgs to me on both Sun and Globe came through! 

What can we conclude from this? That the problem might be network-related.

As he makes his way to me here in Batangas, we will continue to test and report on the results here. I hope you are as intrigued as I am. I will continue to mark this as unresolved pending further investigation with the service provider's assistance.

I’m curious to know if there was ever any resolve to this issue. I’m now experiencing the same problem with my daughter’s text messages not coming thru to me.

Hello, 

Neither Globe nor Smart Service Center could provide a solution. However, in the same manner that the problem just appeared for no known reason, it also disappeared when my son travelled to Batangas to visit us. This leads me to believe that Smart/TNT had a network issue that got fixed quietly.

My Mom and I are experiencing an identical problem. We have tried all of the troubleshooting methods above. She has not been able to receive my text messages for over two years now. It's so frustrating. Technical support representatives have used every troubleshooting method for both my device as well as for my mom's. I send and receive text messages from a variety of people with no issue. But my mom never receives my texts. This issue happened one day out of the blue, and we've been unable to solve it. It's so frustrating and a huge problem as she has needed it for medical emergencies and it hasn't worked when needed.
