I dont understand why would they add a new feature and make it irreversible. Isnt that just bad marketing to just force something on people. With one ui 7 they added new features ok but there should be an option to go back if people dont like it. By by logic this just leads on losing customers trust if you keep forcing features not many need or visuals that not many like. Why is the app screen search bar on the bottom and there is no setting to toggle it either on top or bottom. Its just bad feature. So disappointing tbh. They rant about customisation and then dont allow many chnahes, lol.

@Members_BwTYSgi: I certainly appreciate where you're coming from, as this seems to be a point of contention for people who have recently switched to One UI 7, and are used the the interface looking a certain way. In some instances, such as the Quick panel / Notification panel, this can be reverted to the single swipe option found in previous Android versions, so this is evidence that the developers are trying, where possible, to accommodate users who prefer that interface. The repositioning of the search bar in the Apps screen seems to be tailored towards people that use their phone one handed and couldn't reach the top of the screen with their thumb. It's a case of not being able to please all the people all the time, but I do agree that further customisation options would be welcomed. I think that, with time, tapping the bottom of the screen to search will become second nature, so I hope that the changes aren't too off putting for you in the long run. Rest assured that the developers will be listening to user feedback, and this will likely be reflected in future updates.

The search bar was moved by Google who decided it was better suited at the bottom instead of what we were use to at the top. I agree with you that Samsung shouldn't enforce the change on us without giving us any options, it's a bad move and will force customers to go else where.

I hit update as I always do and suddenly everything on my phone has changed, black seems to be the dominant colour on all screens and I seem to have been replaced by AI which i have no interest in - I've been trying to find how to reverse or delete, from what I'm seeing on here that's not possible, is that 100%?

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Forum

As has been said above, the change for it search bar is hard coded into Android byGoogle so I'm presuming all android devices running 15 will be in the same position.

Any other issues?

Thanks - I can't change back to light mode, it's stuck on dark and I don't want any AI stuff. I've turned off everything I can but can't change the things I absolutely detest and do not want. Might finally be the time to move away from Samsung I think.

Just because the search bar is at the bottom of the app draw on Google phones doesn't mean it's hard coded in android. Samsung uses it's own custom launcher OneUi home. It's a totally different launcher to Google launcher. There are many custom launchers that allow the search bar to be placed at the top or the bottom or even removed altogether. So Samsung should be able to offer the option. The launcher needs rework anyway as it should be able to offer vertical or horizontal with the apps being sorted alphabetically. It would also be better if it opened at the beginning of the app list rather than the last place an app was launched from. See screenshot of the app drawer using nova launcher on Android 15 OneUi 7.1747077093789.jpg

This is the first Android update I've been properly annoyed with? And no seemingly easy way to be able to report of flag it, hence why I'm writing this instead.

Why can't I scroll up and search my phone for things I need? Why does the weather app look so solid and unappealing? Why for some reason can't I pull down from the top of my screen and see options where I can connect to a Bluetooth device for example? Absolutely terrible update and wish I never installed it (:

So for Bluetooth scroll down from the right hand side and it's at the top

Switching from pages of apps to a downwards scrolling is a step backwards. I know an app for example is on page 3 roughly towards the bottom, now I just have endless scrolling while scanning for it alphabetically..... it makes zero sense
