Hi all,
My mic on my new FOLD 2 doesn't work in any app except phone calls and the camera. I have tried a factory reset, all updates, clear caches on the none working apps and get the microphone permissions (all set to allow).
Not sure if anyone has had the same problem? The main apps I can use are Voice recorder, Google Assistant, Bixby
I have contacted Samsung a few times with all the same questions (above) so yes I have done all that.

I have the same problem with a Samsung Galaxy S22+. At first some apps like voice recorder, Gemini or translator, started failing intermitently with the microphone. Now the microphone doesn't work at all with these apps. It only works with Phone calls, Line and WhatsApp. I have tried all the suggestions. Does Samsung already has a solution for this?

Hey, @Pinfloid.
This could be an issue with your set permissions on your apps. I'd recommend that you ensure that "Microphone" is set to allowed on the apps that it's not working on. You can check this within Settings > Apps > Select the app where the Microphone isn't working > Permissions > Ensure that "Microphone" is set to allowed.

All apps have permission to use the microphone.

Hi @TessM
I have tried Samsung Members app> Get help> Interactive checks> Mic.
The result is:
First mic: Action required
Second mic: normal
The microphone orifices are clean. How can this be fixed?
Alternatively, how can I tell all the apps to use Microphone 2? That would solve the problem.

Yesterday I've replaced board with usb-c port and microphone in service. I have 2 S21-s and both of them have same problem. Technician told me this is common problem with S21. Shame on you samsung that you do not acknowledge this issue and do not fix it for free.
Board replacement fixed issue instantly.
