How do I switch my maching it to accept liquid wool detergent?  It looks like it will just flow out the back.  There is a blue plastic lever saying "push", but it looks like it will break if I push it too hard.  The gate does not descend.

@HelenD1: For guidance on how to use the Manual Detergent compartment of your Detergent Drawer, please refer to page 33 of the user manual by following the link below.

This does not say how to switch it to accept liquid detergent.

How do I stop the liquid spilling out the back????

@HelenD1: The Manual Detergent compartment is suitable for both powdered and liquid detergent, although you do need to disable the Auto-dispensing option. With this in mind, please head to page 43 of the user manual linked in my previous reply, and follow the steps to turn off 'Dose per Wash' and 'Dose per Rinse' to see if this helps. Alternatively, you may wish to utilise the Auto-dosing feature, and add your liquid detergent to the Auto-detergent compartment.

After receiving your replies I put liquid wool detergent into the manual compartment.  It just flowed out the back of the compartment as I poured it in.  It can never "reach the max line (D)" as as manual says to avoid, implying that there should be some way to stop it from just flowing out the back.

some series 5 and series 6 came with a little divider/gate that fit into the soap dispenser drawer that you can put into the manual compartment - but I never received one with my WW90T534DAW washing machine either.

The only other option you have is to durn off autodose detergent and look on the back of your wool detergent bottle and see how much it says to add to your wash load (say if it says 1 capful) and do it that way. Of course it will just drain at the back of the drawer but the water from the jet sprays above will wash it down and dilute it OK .
Good luck.

Thanks Andy_in_Ireland, it's reassuring that you have used yours without.

well, I haven't personally to be honest 🙂 - but I cannot see why it wouldn't work.
It might be advisable to pause the machine first before you add your detergent manually , and then restart the machine after you close the autodose drawer.
