Hi everyone,

From day one our Samsung heat pump tumble dryer is damaging clothes at least one a week it twists drawstrings on jogging bottoms and hoodie tops. Most times it twists then just snaps or pulls one end so you have to try and thread it back through if you lucky. But nearly every time it’s ruined as rips it off. I’ve tried tying them up so not so long and dangly but still happens. Am I  the only one???

thanks

Have you tried turning clothes inside out and clothes done up tight so cords are inside clothes and not loose to get caught

Your definitely not the only one, i have the same issue, alot of my sons clothes the draw cords have metal ends, well I should say had, as soon as they went in the dryer they were snapped off, I turn clothes inside out, tie draw cords together and dry on a delicate setting and still theyve ruined every single hoody and jogging bottoms of my sons, samsung need to sort this issue out.

I'm having exactly the same problem. I think there is a design fault with the filter as everything is getting damaged.  I've had other tumble dryers for years and never had this happen

I'm so glad I came across this thread! Samsung have made me feel like I'm making it up.

Has anyone has a solution for this?

Since having our new heat pump tumble dryer I've had so many buttons torn off garments (yes I put them in inside out but they turn back around), the filter collects most of the buttons & zips. There is clearly a design fault with the filter cage, you can see from the damage to it that the large central triangular hole is the culprit for tearing buttons.

Also unlike my previous vented dryer only spins in one direction causing all wash loads, especially bedding to instantly end up in a ball.

You can see in the 4th image my brand new dress was ripped on its 1st wash as it turned the dress from inside out back round and during the waist tie ended up wrapping around all of the washing so tight it ripped the dress. Only got to wear it once!

Called the tech team who took a look via a video call and agreed they could see there was an issue with the filter. I advised there was no point sending out a new filter if the design fault had not been rectified. They said the specialist team would call me the following day.

No call the next day, I called them back to have to go back through the issues and share more images. Promised a call back.

No call back but a replacement filter arrived...exactly the same as the current one 🤦

Called back and explained to be told they have looked into the images provided and said that there is no machine fault, it is impossible for the machine to have damaged the clothes and I would need to pay for an engineer visit if I want it looking at! Shocking!

I mean, of course, I've just been sat there ripping the buttons and zips off my clothes and tearing my brand new dress for fun!?

I've gone ahead and let them book an engineer at my expense as this is just ridiculous and unacceptable.

It's advertised as being delicate on clothes, that might be the case with the gentle heat but certainly not with the handling.

I'll update with the engineer's findings.20230711_185104_1000034466_1689097867.jpg20230711_184825_1000034461_1689097707.jpg20230711_181124_1000034458_1689095485.jpg20230630_224523_1000033868_1688161525.jpg

Mine wasn't as bad as this.  I've had less breakages recently. Partly as a result of not putting certain clothes in the tumble dryer but I have also extended the front feet so that they are higher than the back which means the clothes are less likely to fall to the front of the machine.  It seems to have made a difference.
