Having some real issues..

Purchased 2 Samsung products this week which are both brand new still in there box and am considering returning them for a different brand.

Both items come with a 5 year guarantee upon registration within 90 days.

The trouble im having is when trying to register for the products its stating that the item must be from a specified partner.

The first site iv purchased it from is a site called tradingdepot.co.uk which a large uk company however when speaking to the Samsung representative on the phone i was struggling to explain the situation as even with her understanding English there still seems like a language barrier, she is claiming they are not from an approved retailer which when iv then checked this approved retailer list doesn't even have currys listed as one of there partners which im confused how can that be?? Yet currys are selling the items with the same 5 year guarantee..

Samsung Microwave Oven Combo With Steam Cleaning - Built In - NQ5B4353FBK/U4

The second item im struggling to register is another oven this time purchased from the SAMSUNG store on amazon.. yet in the terms and conditions for 5 year warranty it stated no products from Amazon marketplace yet sold by Samsung and dispatched from amazon uk is NOT Amazon marketplace..

Has anyone else been through this.. £paid over £1100 for these items and if Samsung don't want the business i can return for haier or smeg although would be a shame as like the products.. surely Samsung store on amazon wouldn't sell Samsung products with a 5 year guarantee that cant register for a 5 year guarantee lol

We can understand the confusion, so we thought we would help clear this up for you, @Members_6cbJquv . From time to time we do run extended warranty offers across a multitude of products. Sometimes it's an offer that includes all the big retailers, sometimes it's an offer geared towards the independent retailers, and sometimes it's for both.

When taking part in one of our extended warranty offers, if the retailer isn't on the list of eligible retailers, then it wouldn't be possible to claim on that purchase. However, sometimes a retailer will offer their own extended warranty on products as well.

Looking at our current 5 Year  Warranty offer, both ovens are eligible, although Trading Depot isn't listed as an eligible retailer. However, Curry's and Amazon both are.

With Amazon Marketplace, it is much like eBay in a sense, as it's a marketplace for everyone to sell their items through. We don't sell our items on the marketplace, but Amazon themselves are an official retailer. So in short, providing the oven was sold and dispatched by Amazon, rather than a reseller, then you can claim for the extended warranty.

I understand but do you think that would even apply to currys and Amazon Samsung store who are both offering the items with the 5 years? Surely someone as large as Currys would not offer something they cant offer for the legal ramifications alone.. im also tempted to ring currys an mention they are not on Samsungs approved list for the mountain of items they sell but have a feeling they will laugh me out the store.

You need to look at the specific terms of the promotion

If Currys were part of the promotion then all would be good. But if they weren't them so be it.

Just because a company is a large retailer doesn't mean they will be in every promotion...

Excellent thank you for the clear up, so i will return the item back to trading depot so that is one down.

With the item iv purchased from Amazon you mentioned they are covered, i didn't buy from the market place i bought from the samsung store on amazon which is Amazon uk not the market place. But when registering it doesn't allow me an Amazon selection at all.. would i select the Samsung uk section instead as technically Samsung store on Amazon is a Samsung store right?? Just don't want to pick it and then someone says "no our Samsung store isnt a Samsung store" you bought from Amazon 🙈

Thanks for your help

Just to further clarify the lady on the phone stated amazon is not covered, and when filling the warranty registration it does not allow me to select amazon. Maybe il try again on the ipad if that helps.

Thank you Jordan the amazon registration worked on the ipad so happy days which is funny as wasnt working on my Samsung phone lol..

As you stated the trading depot one isnt legit then that technically is false advertising to me so il return to them as they are advertising 5 years on there site and should be aware they are not a partner. I paid on my credit card so shouldn't be an issue as will do a charge back if they play any games.

Thank you again
