Trouble with 5 year warranty registration

Having some real issues..

Purchased 2 Samsung products this week which are both brand new still in there box and am considering returning them for a different brand.

Both items come with a 5 year guarantee upon registration within 90 days.

The trouble im having is when trying to register for the products its stating that the item must be from a specified partner.

The first site iv purchased it from is a site called tradingdepot.co.uk which a large uk company however when speaking to the Samsung representative on the phone i was struggling to explain the situation as even with her understanding English there still seems like a language barrier, she is claiming they are not from an approved retailer which when iv then checked this approved retailer list doesn't even have currys listed as one of there partners which im confused how can that be?? Yet currys are selling the items with the same 5 year guarantee just like trading depot..

Samsung Microwave Oven Combo With Steam Cleaning - Built In - NQ5B4353FBK/U4

The second item im struggling to register is another oven this time purchased from the SAMSUNG store on amazon.. yet in the terms and conditions for 5 year warranty it stated no products from Amazon marketplace yet this item is being sold by Samsung and dispatched from amazon uk is which is NOT Amazon marketplace its Amazon them self..

Has anyone else been through this.. £paid over £1100 for these items and if Samsung don't want the business i can return for haier or smeg although would be a shame as like the products and want a 5 year guarantee.. surely Samsung store on amazon wouldn't sell Samsung products with a 5 year guarantee that cant register for a 5 year guarantee lol

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Customer to Customer Forum

Sorry to hear of your issues.

5 year warranties are usually a promotional item through specific retailers. To qualify, you have to purchase through those retailers.

If the terms of the promotion specifically exclude, for example, Amazon then you won't qualify either.

Hiya

I understand but Samsung on Amazon are selling the product with the 5 years advertised yet not allowing it in the registration section, and so are currys currently on there site.. surely both large companies wouldn't sell products that cant be warranted as advertised by them as that would be false advertising by them?

As @JordanS has stated.
If it's a third party selling on the amazon market place. This won't be eligible. If it's through Amazon direct and they are participating in the promotion. Then obviously it would qualify.
Unfortunately selling on Amazon is not always clear as its not specifically stated if its a third party retailer selling on amazon.
Also some retailers on amazon are not selling UK products and could be imported from elsewhere.

Best would be to approach Amazon to get clarification

Hi.
I believe you need to take it up with the respective retailers.

Terms and conditions are there for a reason.
Always read the small print.

If the retailers have blatantly copied the offer when they are not supposed to then its on them to sort it out for you.

It's sure is pain but it is what it is.

At the end of the day its up to you whether its worth returning the products or just keep em and count your losses.

Sometimes it even depends and varies from model to model even directly from Samsung.
