Dear all,
Hope someone is able to help us.
We have got a Fridge Freezer Model RB29FSRNDSA/EU.
It was working correctly without any problem for the last 12 months but now it's starting to give us little trouble.
Last month we had a problem with the temperature settings which automatically changed to a very low setting. Thankfully Andrew, one of our community members suggested a fix which worked. Now we have a new problem. We set the freezer temperature to -17DegC but it automatically changes to -15DegC. No snowflake simply is lit. Please could someone help us to resolve this problem. We could not work it out why it's happening.
Kind regards,
Rohini

Hi @Sheshagiri
Have you tried disconnecting your Fridge Freezer from the mains for a few minutes before plugging back in?

Good afternoon ChrisM,
As suggested, we have switched off the fridge for 5 minutes and started. But an hour later we noticed the snowflake symbol back again and the temperature setting changed from -17DegC to -21DegC. We do not understand why this is happening? Shall we call a Samsung service engineer to attend the call? If so how can we log the service call please. Hope you can help us. Please..
Kind regards,
Sheshagiri Mallya

@Sheshagiri: Hello again. I'm sorry to hear that you're still having temperature issues with your refrigerator. Have you tried manually de-activating Power Freeze as per the original solution, or waiting for 50 hours to see if this reverts to the desired settings once it has finished the Power Freeze cycle?

Dear Andrew,No, I did not try it at all. In fact this morning the temperature setting was changed to -23DegC without any warning. I switched off the fridge for 5 minutes and switched on again and found that the temperature settings were changing from -17DegC to -23DegC and the snowflake symbol was on. I could not not change anything. I would say 10 minutes later when I checked the snowflake symbol disappeared and the setting was -21DegC. Could not change to -17DegC which was set for nearly 13 months. Very disturbing and annoying. Samsung letting us down? Any suggestions please? Thank you. Sheshagiri

Good morning Andrew,
No, the problem is still there and getting worse. Last week I contacted the Samsung Service department after the freezer temperature was going down to -25DegC and the fridge temp. is 0.5DegC, they arranged their contractor to visit our home to check and rectify the faults. I sent them two videos showing the temperature is changing itself and the snowflake symbol is activating on/off and also two temperature meter photos showing the fridge and freezer temperature. They replied back and said thank you for the video and understood the problem and will arrange the correct parts and send an engineer on Friday 27th. Accordingly yesterday their engineer came but with the wrong spare part. we were really disappointed. We contacted the service department and asked them to order the correct part and arrange their engineer to visit again urgently. Just before the engineer arrived, we heard a big bang sound come from the bottom of the fridge and when told the engineer he said it must be defrosting due to the very low freezer temperature. We are so worried that if the temperature goes down below -25DegC what damage can it create to the insulation of the freezer side panel? I have seen some video on YouTube where the polyurethane insulation popped out due to the low freezer temperature. Hope they will treat this urgently and send their engineer with the correct part next week.
Kind regards,
Sheshagiri Mallya

That's not what we like to hear, @Sheshagiri. Have you been given a date for the next engineer visit?

Dear Andrew,
Many thanks for your kindness and enquiring about our problem with the fridge freezer.
No, we haven’t got any date and time for the next visit. In fact about 3 hours ago we sent them an email when we saw the freezer temperature was just about to reach -25DegC and the fridge temperature was very close to 0DegC. Also, once again we heard another bang sound coming from the freezer compartment!
Below is the transcript of the message sent to the service company. Hope they will take this matter seriously and send their engineer with the correct parts very soon.
Once again thank you for you kind reply.
Kind regards,
Sheshagiri

Good morning Vexxxxxx,
Hope you are keeping well.
Just to let you know that about 10 minutes ago the freezer temperature settings started changing and the warning bell was sounding every 50 - 60 seconds.
Also, we heard another bang sound coming from the bottom part of the freezer. Hope Freezer temperature is around -24.5DegC and fridge temperature is 1DegC.
Hope you will take this into consideration while booking another visit with an engineer with the correct spare parts.
Kind regards,
Sheshagiri Mallya (Shah)

Were you able to get this fixed? My refrigerator/ freezer, which is a different model but also a Samsung, has been randomly changing the freezer temps on its own. I need to know which part is bad so I can replace it myself.

I have a RB29FSRNDSA and now it starts to go around all temperatures non-stop, and turning power freezer on/off. its not all the time, but I am concerned it might stop working or something..
Thanks in advance!
