Does the steam setting on a washing machine sanitise even on a 40 Celsius wash? Or does it have to be a 60 c?

@Pritchy1982: For optimum results, it is recommended to select a temperature of 60 degrees Celsius or above when using the Steam Hygiene feature.

steam facility on a washing machine can have other benefits on a washing machine apart from sanitising and removing odours, it can for example relax fibres in certain fabrics to make ironing out creases easier - however a lot of washing machine makers put the steam feature at the end of the cycle to help iron clothes easier ... but Samsung for some reason dont, they put their steam feature in the wash cycle before all the rinses and spinning , so which defeats the object if you want to use steam for that purpose of removing creases and easy ironing.
