makes you actually wonder if these Samsung machines that are melting plugs like this were originally designed for the europe 16amp non fused round pin schuko plugs instead of the 13a 3 pin UK plugs.

That's certainly not what we like to hear, @charl598! We take matters like this very seriously.

I’ve had the exact same issue. What was Samsungs response?

Thank you for letting me know. it’s bad that it’s not been recalled, especially when you consider the extent of the burn, plus given the issue is the same and pictures are identical, even down to the age of the machine!

you would be sick now if the plug was placed somewhere near to something combustible (even like wooden kitchen cabinets) and it ended up burning down the whole house!!
especially if for some reason you didnt have house insurance or your insurer said they were not going to pay out.
Samsung really should be looking into this more than they are to be honest, such a lot of people on here and on other parts of the Internet have been posting up these scorched/burnt plugs on their Samsung washing machines so there must be something in it!

This weekend our Samsung Eco Bubble went pop. Upon further inspection we found that the plug in the mains socket had fused together, so must've been a fairly major fault in the machine (heating element perhaps) that made this happen. Thankfully it caused our RCD to trip, so we were saved from a potential fire. This is the second Samsung washing machine we've had - the first one blew within the first year, so was within warranty and it got replaced with the same model. We've only had that replacement a little over two years, so it's now out of warranty and a similar (albeit a slightly more catastrophic failure) has happened again. I was searching for some answers on the web as to why this might have happened and came across this conversation thread. Seems that it's a common problem among Samsung Eco Bubble machines.
We've now had our socket replaced so that's safe and are waiting for a new machine to arrive - NOT a Samsung. I will never buy Samsung again after this and even if our machine could've be fixed I would never trust it afterwards. As others have said I'm surprised these machines haven't been recalled as it is clearly a common fault with this machine!
I thought Samsung were a reliable & safe brand, but it appears not.
Will Samsung pay up for the damage caused by what is clearly a defective machine?!? Further to that it cannot be a co-incidence these faults have occurred on the same machine.
