I have just bought a ww90m7 range washing machine and already in 2 days I have accidentally knocked the power off 3 times half way through a cycle. Not only does it appear there is no way to lock the power button but it also does not remember the wash settings and for a 900 pound washing machine that should be basic functionality. Am I missing something or is there any way to either stop this or lock the power button from being pressed which is easy to do?

I have an LG that did the same thing. The power buttons on my washer and dryer are each 1" across. I have a black finish on mine, so found a black sink washer with a 1-1/4" inside diameter and used poster putty to attach it around the power button. Now I don't touch it when I lean over and the opening is still large enough to push the button intentionally. While the putty does show a little, I can always go back and mount it better now that I know it works.

You gave me an idea I'm going to try a corn plaster pad thingy 😅. I've had my washer a day and I already want to throw it away lol

Just found this thread while googling solutions to this same issue on my Samsung washer. We have had this washer for a few years & this issue has frustrated me.

My solution (hopefully temporary) is not pretty but hopefully will work, I cut off some strips from the edge of a square ice cream tub & stuck them on with double sided tape.

Our washer is in a separate laundry room and the on/off button still gets activated accidentally. I don't understand why they have it return to the beginning of the cycle.  Surely a restart option could be programmed in.

Something 3D printed would be great. Had a quick look on thingiverse though I’m not sure what to search for.

So, I found an item on the thingiverse

Found someone local who could 3D print it which cost me all of $NZ10 and it fits perfectly. See pic below. Sanded it down & stuck it on with double sided tape. Hopefully it will stick well enough without making it permanent with glue.

It does, it was designed to prevent a child switching the machine off according to notes on the thingiverse. I’ll see how it goes as the machine is in a separate laundry room & tends to get switched off if we lean on the machine to reach for something or the button gets knocked, rather than just walking by it.

The person that did the 3D printing may be able to design a surround that recesses the button if this proves to correct other problems.

2024 and this is still an on going issue, even on newer models? I just got mine today and for a £700 washing machine, I feel like cycle memory is such a basic and essential functionality that it seems stupid not to have it, especially with the touch sensitive buttons...

My six year old beko washing machine was just over £200 and even that had cycle memory so that it could start where it left off...
