I have a heat pump tumble dryer that is 16 months old and smells so badly of damp that it permeates our clothes making them stink. I've contacted support numerous times and their suggestion is always clean the heat exchanger, seals and drum which I have done. Regardless, of their advice, I have always cleaned the heat exchanger routinely when prompted by the machine and then after every cycle once this smell appeared as well as leaving the doors open to air.
It's clear to me that the exchanger is so damp after use that the water is stagnating and creating the smell. Furthermore, the lint so sticky with damp that the supplied brush is unable to fully remove it from the fins which adds to the problem.
In my latest interaction with Samsung, they have today decided that the heat exchanger smell is a routine maintenance issue, telling me I have not been cleaning the heat exchanger, despite the fact I have routinely cleaned it exactly as their guides tell you to. Support have said this is my fault not theirs and it is not covered by warranty, therefore any repair would be chargeable.
I'm beyond frustrated, this is an expensive appliance that is now essenitally unusable and with which there is either a fault or a design flaw.
Has anyone had any success in getting Samsung to repair any similar problems they've had under warranty or even acknowledge a fault of this type?

The cause of the problem in my case seems to be quite straight forward, my heat exchanger emits water during the cycle which along with damp lint which gums up the fins, are stagnating because they do not dry out.
The supplied brush is ineffective at removing damp clogged lint from the fins. The fins are so delicate, that cleaning them any more thoroughly would damage them.
