I am trying to clean the inside side of the glass door on my Flex Dual ovens. Trying to tie a cloth to a stick and poke down between the pains doesn't work. Samsung are no help! All the say is for safety reasons I must get their service agent to dismantle the door and clean the glass. Surely this is a design fault?

If I am encouraged to remove and replace the door then loosening a few screws cannot be a safety issue.

They refused to send me an exploded picture of the door.

Has anyone solved the problem of cleaning this glass or dismantled the door?

Your responses are welcomed.

It looks like the door is made not to take apart for cleaning.

Very bad design fault !

The best that we could do is to sew 2 new, clean and dry,  dishclothes together to make a long cloth. Soak one half of the cloth with either "Elbow Grease" degreaser or "HG Grease Away"

And using a thin  12" (300mm) plastic ruler we folded the wet end of the cloth around the ruler and slid the clothed ruler up and down between the panes until grease marks are removed.

Then pull cloths through the gap from the bottom of the glass door.

Remove ruler leaving cloth sandwiched between glass panes, holding top and bottom of cloth work the cloth up and down moving slowy across the width of the door.

Then pull the dry end of the cloth back across glass to wipe it clear.

Remove cloth from between glass and finally take a lint-free clean tea towel using same method to remove any smears. You may have to repeat wet cloth treatment if not clear.

I hope that this is useful. Unfortunately this is tedious.

Oven has been designed by someone who has never used it nor cleaned an oven

:smiling-face:

Any other ideas welcome.

Hi, I also have the above issue. In the end I bit the bullet and took the door off to take apart.

Unless you have good DIY skills I would suggest that this could be an issue.

Laying the door flat of a table I removed all the screws I could see, down each side and a couple in the door recess. (As stated before there appears to be no exploded view available from the manufacturers).

After doing this you can just about lift up the one side of the door from the other to gain a little access. I managed to pull the dual glass pieces out from the top, being mindful of the plastic/rubber guides within which they fit. Be very careful when putting you hands into the gap as there are some sharp edges which can slice your fingers, I accept no responsibility for any injuries you may receive.  After cleaning re-assembly can be fun so be patient. I have better news on what you can do to stop food etc. dropping between the glass doors in future. After cleaning I attached some heat resistant tape over the gap. I've had this in place for a month or so now and seems to work well. The link below is the one that I used but there are many available. This stuff should have been used when the doors were manufactured then none of us would have the problem.

Hope this helps Al

I’m having the same problem. The sealed top part is collecting debris inside. Spoke to Samsung who say this wouldn’t be under warranty because I’m not maintaining it. A bit annoyed about this as I am always keeping it clean. Tried to explain in between two panes of glass that you can’t get at because it’s supposed to be a sealed unit, but would not listen.

Hi,  assuming its the same as mine and you are talking about the bottom door of the two then its not sealed. There is a gap between the two panes which can be seen when you open the top door on its own. I had the same issues with Samsung, they don't want to know! I presume they know its a flawed design and want to protect themselves. Anyway the solution is as in my first post on this. Try to clean as in the post then buy some heat resistant tape, as in link in first post, run the tape across the opening, push down hard with your fingers to seal and that's it. I've had mine in place for sometime now and not had the issue re-occur.  Al

No it’s the top door of the two, I found you could clean bottom with kitchen roll and stick from this chat, not very well but the top is sealed and getting debris inside two panes, which Samsung are saying I am not maintaining even though you can’t get in to clean.

Glad I discovered this within the first 14 days. A tissue on a stick.... They're having it back

It's doable, I just managed to dismantle part of the door, remove the multilayer glass panels and eventually clean all the glass panels.

Open top door - 2 rubber screw on each side out. Close and open whole door. 6 black screws out, 3 on each side. 2 screws out from the front top, one on each side of the metal frame holding the door panel. Press the top door handle to unlock the latch and remove whole frame that's holding the glass. Then remove the bottom pair of glass, held together by rubber holders in each corner.
Obviously be mindful of reverse steps, positions of each screw and the rubber holders for the glass pair.

I have done this to our oven, maybe not getting as far as you! unfortunately one of the screws was stuck solid so I had to drill this out....anyway the wife managed to clean inside using the plastic ruler and cloth method (thanks Samsung) I have managed to find another screw and managed to get the door back together and reinstalled, however the door shuts OK but not properly, the single door opens fine but to get the complete door to open you have to lift up the handle with a bit of force then it opens! so, my first question is that I noticed after taking the screws out that there are two different lengths (4 long, 2 slightly shorter), presumably it matters which way around they go? also any suggestions as to what the door opening problem may be? Any help will be greatly received. Finally.... the screw doesn't match what Samsung use, I have tried searching spares places with no luck!

Had this oven for 3 weeks and an exploding potato has gone down there.  What a stupid design.  Luckily there is only a bit.  I shall try your tape.
