Fabric softener fills with water on 1st cycle

I've had my Samsung ecobubble since March, I've recently noticed that the fabric softener compartment fills with some water when the machine fills with water to start the wash. The fabric softener then empties meaning I have to put more softener in so it can be used in the rinse. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening

maybe one reason could be water pressure? - if you have it linked up to a high pressure mains cold water pipe that comes up from the ground in your house that the water pressure is very high going into the washing machine, then coming very fast out of the water jets at the top of the soap drawer housing (too fast) and splashing into the fabric conditioner compartment as well as the main wash compartment (where the detergent goes) 
If that is the case you can try turning down the pressure at the washing machine tap and seeing if that helps. Some washing machines also have a extra water saver/pressure reducing washer in the inlet valve of the washing machine to lower the pressure of water going into the soap dispenser housing for this reason.
