Hi. Recently bought a Samsung washing machine. There's a whole load of extra cycles one can download using the app. One of these is called "Cloudy Day", that apparently uses "a special spin for quicker drying on cloudy days". What does this programme actually do, apart from ramping up the spin speed to max? What's the difference between setting this, and using any of the other programmes, with the spin set to 1400?

Hi and warm welcome 👋

In the manual it says: For optimum spin drying at high humid condition.

Also It aims to optimize the washing and spinning process to extract more water from the laundry, thus reducing drying time.1737211759914.jpg

Im pretty sure it means that it removes more water with high spin rate because a cloudy day is usually more humid and harder for clothes to dry when on the washing line.

Longer hold at 1200rpm. I do a Synthetics spin only on mine which holds at 1400rpm for about 4 minutes. Better results than the Cloudy Day final spin, in my opinion.

Thanks, but it's all still rather vague. My manual doesn't actually say anything about it, as it's not a standard cycle on the machine. If this does more than just ramp up the spin speed, it could he useful to me, as at this time of year I've no choice but to dry my washing indoors, and it if came out of the machine slightly less damp that would be very handy.

As I sad, if that's all it does what's the point?
