Beware of Samsung’s Defective Refrigerators & Misleading Return Policy!

I want to share my terrible experience with a defective Samsung refrigerator and how Samsung is making it nearly impossible to return it or get a refund. If you’re considering buying a Samsung refrigerator, think twice!

My Experience:

  • Order Date: February 15, 2025
  • Delivery Date: February 26, 2025, at 11:30 AM
  • Issue Discovered: February 27, 2025 (less than 24 hours after delivery)

Right after installation, we noticed major defects:

  1. The water dispenser didn’t work.
  2. One of the drawers was filling with water, and the leak wouldn’t stop.
  3. We had to dump 5 gallons of water every few hours just to prevent water damage.
  4. I had to wake up multiple times at night to stop my floors from flooding!

Samsung Customer Service Nightmare:

  • I contacted Samsung support DAILY from 2/27/2025 to 3/1/2025, speaking to over 15 representatives.
  • On 3/1/2025, I was told I was past the return windoweven though it had only been THREE DAYS since delivery!
  • Samsung’s website clearly states they have a 15-day return policy from the delivery date, but they refused to honor it.
  • This defective product was Samsung’s fault, yet they are blaming the customer and making returns impossible.

This Is NOT an Isolated Issue!

After doing some research, I found out that many other customers have reported the same water leakage issues with Samsung refrigerators. Samsung knows about this defect but is still selling these faulty products!

Warning to Other Customers:

⚠️ Do NOT trust Samsung’s return policy—it’s misleading and difficult to use.
⚠️ Be prepared for a frustrating customer service experience if you receive a defective product.
⚠️ Samsung refrigerators have a known history of water leakage issues!
⚠️ Returning a defective Samsung product may be nearly impossible, even within their stated return window.

My Request to Samsung:

I am not asking for anything extra. I just want Samsung to honor their return policy, pick up their defective refrigerator, and issue a full refund. I do not want a replacement, just my money back.

If you have had a similar experience, please share your story and warn others. Samsung needs to be held accountable for their faulty products and deceptive return process.

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community UK/EU

Yes, this absolutely isn't right; the returns window, to my understanding, is 14 days. I would suggest contacting @Sam_UK and forwarding this to them.

This being a members-to-members (customers) forum, we can't assist you. In addition to this i would contact shop.uk@email.support.samsung.com

Hope you have all the best in sorting this. Thank you for sharing your experience

I have had issues with my Samsung refrigerator since i purchased it in 2020. The ice maker was constantly freezing every other day I was chopping the ice out of the ice maker I never had ice it was always frozen over. After covid died down I called Samsung to have the ice maker repaired they told me that it was out of warranty but because there was a class action lawsuit against them that it would be repaired. Now my fridge is making a horrible noise my food hasn’t been being kept cold the freezer is frozen sometimes not other times. They refuse to fix it said I have to pay for the diagnostic fees and labor if it is the compressor. The door clearly states 10 year warranty so why am I being told that I have to pay? Also there is a five year warranty on a sealed compressor either way Samsung is at fault they have been knowingly selling defective refrigerators. The temps are inaccurate the ice makers don’t work the fans and compressors die way before they should. A fridge should last more than 4 years. I say you take them to small claims court and sue them for the cost of your fridge the increase in your water bill any water damage you have suffered from their defective product along with pain and suffering since you have had to wake up constantly throughout the night to make sure you empty the water of it so your home doesn’t flood.

Thank you for the update. I understand how frustrating this has been for you. I had a similar experience—I received my fridge less than 12 hours ago and already encountered issues, so I can definitely feel your pain. In the U.S., their support team is outsourced to India, making it even harder to get proper assistance. Hopefully, they will come to pick up their defective fridge soon

Yes, I’m in the U.S. However, I’m just sharing this to raise awareness for people considering buying a Samsung refrigerator, so they know what they might face after purchasing one.

Hey Rae I had the same problem and they pulled my feet and dragged me around for 3 years with fake promises until the food was getting mouldy in the fridge because the motor has failed and the icebox was dysfunctional. Samsung repairs my fridge 4 times and even though promised a refund but never gave it to me.

We should collectively apply to court. I eventually had to buy another fridge but I took a personal oath!  Never buying Samsung products any more!

Samsung in Australia did the same too! Must be their internal new policy to give their customers a hard time and not apply refunds..
