Z fold 4 ruined after 6.1 update

I am so unimpressed. Updated my Z fold 4 to one ui 6.1 last week and ever since the update I have been facing issues with loss of sound. Some research suggests this happens after the device is unfolded then closed again. 

Biggest problem now is when trying to restart it had now got to a point where it'll no longer boot and is stuck on the Samsung logo. Constantly trying to force restart but with no luck.

This is not a hardware problem as the device has been very well looked after. This is a problem that has occurred since the update that has got progressively worse to the point the phone is becoming pretty useless.

Even worse is because it's stuck on the logo and I have to keep forcing a restart I can't even access recovery mode to try a factory reset. Not sure if that'll solve this issue but worth a try if I could get into it.

I also noticed when it's booting that the Samsung logo is being displayed on both inner and outer displays. Possible that during the boot process the device is getting confused what it's booting and freezing?

This needs to be sorted out ASAP and an update pushed out to address this problem.

Samsung can deny all they want that it's not a software issue because it clearly is and I am not the only one that's had this exact same issue since the 6.1 update.

Depends on how far gone your device is.
If you can get into recovery mode and wipe cache that may help or failing that a factory data reset.
If that doesn't work you may have to send it off for repair as the motherboard might be knackered.

I just realized a major problem, with this defective phone, as a result of the update is........will we be able to trade it in, for the zfold6 when it comes out, without "penalty", or it be considered "damaged", for the full credit of a trade in phone??? 🤔🤔

As much as I like the Fold, this has REALLY soured me on Samsung.    And LG (which was the best, IMHO) has stopped making Android phones...

I have the similar issue. My phone if on and off sound, went to store to fix, they said the only option for me is to wait for next update, they have no way to fix it .

I went to factory setting five time in the last 2 months to get the phone working as a "smart" phone. I am about switch to iPhone,  probably the only way to have a smart phone.

I totally agree. My phone had a screen replacment proir to one ui6.1 update and was working perfectly until update.

Same here, since one ui 6.1 twice the phone in the service center. First symptom no wifi. Replaced inner screen, two batteries and main pca. Two weeks later camera stops working, reboot and device bricked in Samsung logo.... no way to power it off. Visit to the service center and the technician that remembers me, says. You updated to the latest firmware didn't you?...  there's something wrong but we have no official statement from Samsung. You are not the first. After repair please disable updates for at least 2 months.  Let's hope they find out as this is not a very popular device....

I have the same problem. 

Z4 fold, sound loss, not able to boot properly AND there's a 1cm line, going from top to bottom, where the pen doesn't work anymore. I've reset the device, tried other pens and of course without any phone case etc as suggested by troubleshooting guides. 

This all happened after the 6.1 update.

Same issue.  There was heat coming from the hinge area following the update.  Lasted about 1-2 weeks. Then it blacked out one day and now it only works when it is closed.  I believe the heat burned the cable or damaged something on the motherboard.

Is anyone else having a problem with the screen brightness? It used to be brilliant (no pun intended) in bright light, or outdoors, but now, no matter how high I set it, even with extra brightness, I can't read my screen outdoors even, in the shade. Auto brightness doesn't work!
