Why do companies change things that don't need fixing?

This new update on the UI is awful. The layout change is mirroring IPhone so instead of being different Samsung feels like a copycat. For years I stayed away from Samsung because I felt it was just as bad as apple and having a Samsung phone was no different to an Iphone. I made sure to buy phones by other companies like One plus because I felt they were offering big phones for less money. Unfortunately Oneplus made it harder and harder to keep buying their phones so I went for the lesser of the two evils being Samsung. Apple charge you for the apple logo more than the shoddy phones. Anyway I settled for Samsung and the phone I got has been adequate. But after this update it reminded me why I moved away from companies like this because they do what they want not caring about the people who use it who line their pockets. Samsung have proven they may be the lesser of Apple but are no less evil.

For me this is the straw that broke the camels back and as soon as I get the opportunity I'll get rid of this company.

In my honest opinion the whole "copying iphone" is a sheep- fad. My gf has an iphone and ive sat and compared them, nothing alike.

Most of the changes were done via Android 15- aka google- aka all Android devices. So- you dislike android and you dislike IOS...sorry to say but theres no other options...so, guess theres that. You dont "just pay for the brand" compare the specs, then the security of other devices- samsung seem to always be on top.

I personally have absolutely zero brand loyalty, but i choose to stick to samsung for a reason, hardware, security and ecosystem. And a big part- the beta programs, they let you test the update before release and really listen to your feedback. And, the discounts samsung offer are absolutely incredible, paid "hardly anything" for my s25U

This isn't me saying you're wrong! All of our opinions are equally valid, and I hope you find what you're looking for. I'm just not sure you will...as every device besides iPhones uses Android. What was you thinking of doing next in terms of brand?

Samsung is nothing like Apple, Samsung are more versatile, i got used to the new update visually, and besides that I am enjoying the enhanced features they gave to the phones, especially in camera section, which is not just the gimmicks, but also the camera is improved miles away as before the update, but also around the phone, such as Notes, which I am using daily and are a charm to use, Social Media, Gemini, just to name a few. I am not sure you will find this much on other brands, but customer satisfaction is subjective, so my response ends here.

There may be small changes that appeases a few people but they forced people to update not caring if they want or like it makes them exactly like Apple. I'm not saying they're like apple phones I'm saying Samsung is like Apple in the aspect that all they care about is money and not the community.

You misinterpreted my meaning. I didn't mean it as it was a direct copy feature for feature, but the fact that this new UI is like what Apple does with their phones and that is for ing the users to capitulate. I understand why you stick with them but as someone who recently joined im feeling like this is proving why I stayed away for so long.

That's understandable. I get what you mean. Thank you for the clarification.

What, in particular, do you dislike? Which changes from samsung, which arent from Android 15 (Google) aren't to your liking?

Updates are necessary as a means of improvement, there is alot of study going on before the Update. All brands Update their devices after a while, and you will not find a single one that doesn't. If you go out there on the market, there are alot of IPhone copy cats at the moment. If you dislike an IPhone look, you can customise your phone from Good locks, Themes, settings, there are lots of options, but I don't think this is a reason to dislike the whole device, essentially it's still the same. Personally I don't believe that because there are a few rounded bezels the phone looks like IPhone, and I love the fact that I can access my apps with one tap from the folders I was able to organise. This is still an Android device and not an IOS, the performance of the device has been improved, not decreased.

Er can I point out that it's a company that survives by making money.
Thats the whole point of them making a product that's sells and makes a profit.

I don't like the whole feel of the new features from battery life to the app draw being a scrolls wheel instead of windows. I don't like the fact I have to swipe in two separate locations to get the notifications or settings. This could be due to change aversion or potentially metathesiophobia. Regardless of what the cause is I just really hate it.

You can change both of those.
Battery should calibrate itself after 14 days.

The swipe can be changed- in app draw- click the 3 dots next to search, sort, change.

Then for the swiping down- can be changed to how it was before. Swipe down from the right side- click pen icon top right- pannel settings top left- change to "together'
