I am so unimpressed. Updated my Z fold 4 to one ui 6.1 last week and ever since the update I have been facing issues with loss of sound. Some research suggests this happens after the device is unfolded then closed again.

Biggest problem now is when trying to restart it had now got to a point where it'll no longer boot and is stuck on the Samsung logo. Constantly trying to force restart but with no luck.

This is not a hardware problem as the device has been very well looked after. This is a problem that has occurred since the update that has got progressively worse to the point the phone is becoming pretty useless.

Even worse is because it's stuck on the logo and I have to keep forcing a restart I can't even access recovery mode to try a factory reset. Not sure if that'll solve this issue but worth a try if I could get into it.

I also noticed when it's booting that the Samsung logo is being displayed on both inner and outer displays. Possible that during the boot process the device is getting confused what it's booting and freezing?

This needs to be sorted out ASAP and an update pushed out to address this problem.

Samsung can deny all they want that it's not a software issue because it clearly is and I am not the only one that's had this exact same issue since the 6.1 update.

Sort it out Samsung

If you can get into the phone to do a cache reset then try that too @WaffleMonster

> Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

You can send feedback via your Samsung Members App for assistance.

That or a Samsung Service Centre can assess your phone.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I got to a point last night where the phone was pretty much bricked. It would not boot at all and eventually the battery drained and it seemed like it wouldn't charge or anything.
I took it to Vodafone today where a tech guy managed to boot it up so I was then able to backup my data and do a factory reset.
The reset got stuck in a bootloop but he did a hard reset and the phone now appears to be OK.
No lagging or loss of sound. I daren't let it die incase the same thing happens again but at some point I'm going to need to restart it or turn it off so we'll see.
A factory reset though does seem to have resolved the issue.
Never before have I had to do that after an update since the days of rooting and flashing custom roms. This sort of thing just should not happen.
Glad it seems to be OK now and hope it stays that way

OK scrap that. I started having issues with the camera crashing meaning I needed to restart the phone. Restarted and now it's stuck on the samsung logo again.
I don't know what the tech guy did earlier but when I try force restarting it's not booting up and just stuck on the samsung logo.
Just when I thought everything was working it turns out it's not.
Looks like it might have to go off for a repair.
Samsung really need to push an update out to fix this as it is clearly a software problem.
When the tech guy booted it up earlier it even popped a message up saying a serious software issue has been detected and to check for updates.

My phone is almost to the point of Being unusable. Any time I try to type My keys don't respond to Touch. My phone will randomly glitch and nothing Will move or the pull down menu shows up . The stupid a I thing keeps popping up for no reason. I will get this weird glitch to where random apps or images in my phone appear for a split second and then go away. Apps I barely use. I have to use voice to text to type. If i'm watching a video on youtube it will pause and play and fast forward and rewind all on its own . When my screen freezes I have to turn off the screen and then turn it back on. And it just keeps getting worse and worse. I have done all of the Suggestions I have Is found online And nothing has helped. I am not a violent person , but I am about ready to throw this phone. Zfold4.

This is not  just the Folds.  Google Samsung Galaxy stuck in boot loop.  The latest ONE UI update apparently messed up a lot of phones.  The only way to get them to boot up is to make them ice cold.  As long as the phone is very cold, it works fine.  It gets stuck in a boot loop as soon as it starts to heat up.  Nobody has been able to pinpoint why, but some users have stated that the area right next to the cameras (where the processor and RAM are) get abnormally hot very quickly.  The heat started after the issues arose with trying to load the latest ONE UI update.

Well this is quite frustrating to hear. My S23 Ultra and the wife's A55 are running 6.1 with no issues so far.
It is so annoying that for such an expensive device we face these problems. Seems like samsung have rushed this update without fully testing compatibility.
I now have it sent in for repair under warranty however my concern is they'll flash 6.1 software on the device and I'll face the same problem.
They're aware of the issues because I understand they've pushed out an update in Korea to address the issues but it's not been rolled out elsewhere yet.
Fingers crossed everything is fine when I get it back

Same exact thing. But it looks like everyone has different problems. Because my z fold 4 is most of the time unusable. When it's off, and I try to turn it on again, it just gets stuck at the lockscreen.

I now have it finally on, and I am scared to ever turn it off. I set my time-out timer to 10 minutes bc I just need my phone for a lot of things.

And this morning I wanted to watch YouTube and my phone displayed YouTube and my homescreen in front of it.

I have the Flip 4 and the EXACT SAME THING happened to me.  Although not at all surprised, another lie they attempt to sell us regarding updates is device "must" be connected to Wi-Fi AND cannot have an almost drained battery -neither of which is true. I avoid updates like the plague and back in January, before plugging my phone up for the night, knowing a forced update was looming, decided to take my SIM card out and clicked "forget network" for home WiFi. My amateur thinking was no connection for update, no update. [I knowwww, amateur move. I'm actually laughing out loud as I typed this realizing how freaking stupid it sounds because it's samsung. They don't give a ***** about you or your privacy, will always do whatever they want to with or to your phone, regardless of legality and if they have your permission. Those of you who have long time experience with and knowledge of Samsung, already know Samsung will force any app, permission and "update" they want no matter what roadblocks I try setting up. The update pushed through the next day while I was out in about and I was pissed but I know that's part of having these phones.
About two or three days after the update, I couldn't sleep and was up watching a favorite creator on YouTube right around midnight, which is when it reinstalls the forced updates which I HATE for a number of reasons. One of them being the update starts immediately closing YouTube without warning. So, when YouTube closed, I knew the update reinstalled. I immediately opened YouTube app properties to UNinstall said update but every time I clicked uninstall updates, the folder/window crashed which never happened previous times I uninstalled said update. It was annoying and I decided to reboot my phone. If I'd had any miraculous insight or somehow had a clue as to what rebooting was going to cause, I definitely would not have rebooted. While waiting for the phone to restart, I realized it was taking an abnormally long time. That's when I noticed the reboot cycle kept restarting which is something I have never experienced. A screen most of us don't often see you finally appeared informing me the only way to recover my device was to wipe the partition. Not only that, it said something to the effect make sure to back up device or make sure it's backed up before wiping partution. Ummmm..... I realized Samsung doesn't give a ***** however, how do they figger I'd do that? I back my device up regularly however, stuck in that screen, had no way to do that right then. As for partitioning/wiping my device, I ***** sure did not want to do that because it is a huge hassle and pain in the ass to get my phone to exactly the way I had it, tolerable. When it finally got to setup, since my entire device was wiped, I couldn't access ColorNotes to retrieve my Wi-Fi password and was not near my router. clicked skip, but was met with a warning that said wifi had to be connected to in order to verify _____, I do not remember. Riddle me that...let me get this straight, it needs to connect to my home Wi-Fi to reverify whatever it was because there was an unauthorized attempt to wipe the partition. I was so blown away and enraged with the reckless negligence and DTP companies like Samsung base operations on, the probability my head might blow the ***** off my shoulders seemed very high. ANYHOW, my strung out, crackhead prostitute pimped out by Samdung is the UNSTABLE and clearly HIGH AS ***** device WHICH TOLD ME to wipe said partition. If I could have escaped that screen or powered off my device, if that was even possible, I ***** sure would have.

After all was said and done, despite the fact I've regularly backed up my device, I lost nearly everything of any significance which has not been recoverable thus far. Not only that, since the update, there are many apps that no longer function and did prior to. I used Blue Mail for a long time and I was no longer able to use it as it crashed anytime I attempted to open it. The call blocking program which when message blocking is enabled, becomes the default text message source, program or _____ ? I'm not sure what basic phone based services are called. Source? App? Program?

Wow! Since late stage primary and all through secondary, I've had a terribly frustrating struggle whilst attempting to share what I want or am trying to say out in a manner that makes sense to the masses, er- anyone bored on the loo reading it out of desperate boredom - AND is shorter than War and Peace. 😆
