For no apparent reason, my inner screen has failed. The outer screen and the phone still works, but the inner screen is just blank. I can feel the touch panel still working on the inner. I am 6 months out of warranty. I was told I have the option to trade it in at significantly reduced value or repair it for $600+.
Has Samsung done anything to resolve this? Is this just a situation where I've lost as a consumer trying out new technology? I had hoped that being 4th gen this would be resolved.

Its being scammed by Samsung with the update.
Same thing 13 months old got the update and the inner screen fold 4 went off, my phone was not even being used from some time and was reset and attached to wifi as i got new s24ultra so i thought to sell the fold 4 to update with the latest fold version, but guess what they lost another samsung customer, i use samsung from last 14 years but i think its time to move.

I feel like we should sue samsung in class action lawsuit. This is complete negligence.

Seriously bugging, for no apparent reason that too! Just one day, it went all black, after sitting on my desk untouched for about 4 months.....makes you wonder how long even that replacement will last.

Same issue here after an update the inner screen became real slow and now just does not show an image unless its booting.

In a surprising twist, having purchased my fold4 in Australia, I was told I have an additional year of warranty under ACL(Aus consumer law) and Samsung now changed the inner lcd screen for free.
guess it will last me a bit more, bt who knows…any1 else from down under, maybe use this avenue too, good luck!

I bought the Galaxy Z Fold 4 on December 8th, 2022, and I’ve kept it in perfect condition, barely using it. However, the inner screen has completely stopped working, while the front screen still functions. It seems like the phone’s lifespan is just under a year, despite it costing me a lot when I purchased it in Melbourne, Australia. I’m extremely disappointed, saddened, and regretful for buying this phone.

SAMSUNG CEO PLANNED THIS AS THEY MADE NO FUND OR MONEY DURING COVID -19 AND THEY FOUND THIS WAY TO RELEASE A BETA FOLD 4 PHONE WITH MANY LACKINGS AND NOT EVEN TESTED JUST PUTTING IT FOLDABLE SCREEN ALL ITS CUSTOMERS WILL BE AMAZED NOT SEEING THE PRICES THEY WILL BUY BUT ALAS WE FALLIN INTO MARKETING TRAP . THATS WHY I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANY SAMSUNG BRAND HEREAFTER LOOSING USD 2000 NOT EVEN THE PHONE LASTED FOR 1 YEAR.

no result. tried this. also tried the 'clearing the cache' option.
For sake of, I tried individually and holistically disabling all additional features, placing in airplane mode, etc. not fixed.
I booted into safemode. the first time, it showed the standard bootscreen on startup, after it no longer did, no regular display. Checked, there was no discoloration, etc. on the inner screen, but it was only the boot logo.
Certainly feels like this is a UI issue, not a HW issue.
Mine stopped working while using. I opened to change an app setting (AC) and closed, when I re-opened two seconds later to check time, it wouldn't show inner screen. I just let the UI update yesterday. sigh.

Same issue as everyone else here. tried all options in this thread (factory reset, and cache partition clear). Phone is basically just an expensive brick, just outside the 2yr warranty in Aus. Anyone know the cost in Aus to get this type of thing fixed? Weirdly my issues only started after upgrading to UI 6.1.1, and there is certain things that will make the device "crash" (crackle, black screen) like this Enrolling a fingerprint (which must be done while the device is unfolded.
