For no apparent reason, my inner screen has failed. The outer screen and the phone still works, but the inner screen is just blank. I can feel the touch panel still working on the inner. I am 6 months out of warranty. I was told I have the option to trade it in at significantly reduced value or repair it for $600+.
Has Samsung done anything to resolve this? Is this just a situation where I've lost as a consumer trying out new technology? I had hoped that being 4th gen this would be resolved.

Unfortunately technology involving hardware and software can and will fail 😕 @giangvann
Your phone is an expensive model to repair.
In the UK Samsung apply a 24 month Manufacturing Warranty but does not cover accidental damage.
I see you've used the $ so your consumer rights maybe different than that of the UK.
There is Samsung Care+ that can be purchased within a titimeframe that does cover accidental damage, and extends the warranty period.
Can you check any other relevant Insurance such as Home Contents Insurance, and or some Bank Accounts provide cover as a perk of the account.
Or the only other viable routes are the options provided by your Samsung Department you've already spoken with.
If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate to ask. 😎

It is not under warranty anymore if you're in the US. What I was able to do is go through my credit card protection and get a repair covered. I ended up trading it in for the s24 ultra. Foldable technology is just not there yet. I should've abandoned Samsung due to their lack of support for their product. There was no reason for the screen to fail.

I had same issue after installing the update to One UI6.1. I reported it to Samsung, they said no report have been found yet for this issue (surprising) and asked me to send my phone to the service. I am sure that it is not the hardware issue and therefore keep checking to fix myself. After turning the device with safe mode, it worked. In several trails for unfold - blacks screen - fold, an error message pop-uped at the outer screen says "System UI isn't responding". I have searched google to fix this problem, and there are many ways to address it. One solutions worked for me is to delete cache at the System UI app; 1. Go "Setting" > "Apps" 2. Click sorting icon (right at the "Your apps"), 3. Enable "Show System apps", 4. Go to "System UI", 5. Click Storage and delete Chache. Hope it works for you having similar problem. Good luck !!!

Same thing here. When I reboot the inner screen starts up when I open it slightly, then goes black. Went to authorized Samsung repair, and it will cost what I paid for the phone 2 years ago. So Samsung has lost a Z Fold customer!!! Phone is in pristine condition and after my June update, noticed changes, right before inner screen went out, daily getting a "no sim card" disconnect and the reconnect, and lagging.
