Z fold 3 no sound on inner screen

Hello all, since the last software update when opening screescreen to full mode the sound dissapears. I have tested speakers in diagnostic mode with phone shut and all good. Once opened no sound. Can anyone shed light on this?

@Gman1707: Please can you try pressing the Volume Down and Power buttons together for around 10 seconds until the phone restarts, as this will perform a Soft Reset and address any temporary software issues that might be a contributing factor. If the issue persists, unfold the screen, then head to Settings > Sounds and vibration > Sound mode, and make sure that Sound is enabled. Furthermore, tap on 'Volume' and make sure that each volume slider is at a suitable level. You may also wish to try heading to Settings > Accessibility > Hearing enhancements > Mute all sounds, and make sure that this feature is toggled off.

I think the September update has messed everything up. I had no sound, no rotation and now the inner screen doesn't work at all. Wait for the next update or contact Samsung if it gets worse.

OMG exactly the same thing has happened to me. So disappointed when it's such an expensive phone. When the heck is the next update...not sure I can wait that long. Now I can only hear phone calls if I pop it on speaker. grrrrr

I've done a soft reset and a full factory reset. Didn't make much difference. Even repairing apps in the boot menu made very little difference. There should be October update or a Beta One UI6 coming up this week from what I've read online. So hang in there.

As for how expensive the phone is, I'm going to wait for the update to be out a while before upgrading myself next time. It's despicable there's no quick turnaround for such a major issue.

If you do a normal restart it should work normally but only on the front display. Don't open the fold and it should work OK as annoying as it is until the update

How odd, I have just got this issue today, like right now. No sound when fully open flat but there's sound when it is 90 degree open. I search for threads and there are many many people are having this issue with their fold 3 and fold 4. No solution yet.

There's no software updates that is going to fix this brother, I was very upset and disappointed. Reality is, you gonna have to come to the store and have them replace the twos cables inbetween the folding gap, that's how you get it to work again. It's very costly so now I'm pairing it with a bluetooth speaker so I can have sound everyday. Stupid mechansim design.

Yes you fix has made no difference whatsoever. It remains the same. Your update has rendered my phone useless.

Samsung get this fixed now. This is not acceptable for a device with a high price tag. I have not even had 12 months trouble free running from my device. So far its had to have a full screen replacement. And now no sound on full screen. I will not be buying any more premium Samsung devices as they are not fit for purpose
